Lala was usually a cheerful and kind little girl, but one afternoon, her emotions got the better of her. Her younger brother, Milo, had been following her everywhere, touching her toys and asking endless questions. Already tired from a long day, Lala snapped. She grabbed her favorite doll from Milo’s hands and shouted at him to stay away. Startled, Milo began to cry, and the peaceful atmosphere in the house quickly turned tense.
Mom, who was in the kitchen, rushed in when she heard the noise. She knelt beside Milo, comforting him gently, then turned to Lala with a calm but serious look. “Lala,” she said softly, “I know you’re tired, but hurting your brother’s feelings is not the right way to handle it.” Lala crossed her arms and looked away, still feeling angry, but she could sense Mom’s disappointment.
Instead of scolding her harshly, Mom asked Lala to sit beside her. She explained how Milo admired his big sister and only wanted to play with her. Mom reminded Lala of all the times Milo had shared his snacks and toys with her, even when he didn’t have much. Hearing this made Lala’s heart soften. She realized she had been unfair and selfish.
To help her understand better, Mom gave Lala a small task. She asked her to spend the afternoon taking care of Milo, helping him build blocks and reading him a story. At first, Lala felt reluctant, but as they played, she noticed Milo’s bright smile and cheerful laughter. Slowly, her frustration melted away, replaced by warmth and affection.
By evening, Lala hugged her brother tightly and whispered a sincere apology. Milo beamed and wrapped his tiny arms around her neck. Watching them, Mom smiled proudly, knowing that Lala had learned an important lesson about patience, kindness, and responsibility.
From that day on, Lala tried harder to be gentle and understanding. She discovered that being a caring sister not only made her brother happy but also filled her own heart with joy.
