Perched on a chair by the counter, Lily swung her legs back and forth, trying to peek at what he was doing. “Is it ready yet?” she asked for what felt like the hundredth time.
“Almost,” Dad replied with a playful smile. “Good things take time.”
Finally, the moment arrived. Dad carefully placed a beautifully arranged plate on the table. The dish was colorful, filled with vibrant vegetables, a golden crispy topping, and a rich, mouthwatering aroma that made Lily’s nose twitch.
