Monkey Lyly was feeling very excited after watching her mother return home from the market carrying a beautifully wrapped package. The colorful ribbon and shiny paper immediately caught Lyly’s attention. She quickly ran toward her mother with sparkling eyes, convinced that the special gift was meant for her. For the entire afternoon, Lyly followed her mother around happily, imagining what might be inside the mysterious package.
In her mind, Lyly was certain it could only be a new toy, a pretty dress, or maybe delicious snacks that her mother had carefully chosen for her. She even sat beside the table, smiling proudly while waiting for the moment her mother would finally hand over the present. Every few minutes, Lyly pointed at the gift excitedly, making cute little sounds that made everyone laugh.
However, things became confusing when Lyly noticed her mother placing the package near the door instead of giving it to her. Soon after, a neighbor arrived carrying her small baby. Lyly watched curiously as her mother warmly welcomed them inside. Then, to Lyly’s surprise, her mother picked up the beautifully wrapped gift and handed it to the neighbor instead.
Lyly immediately froze in confusion. Her cheerful face slowly turned sad as she realized the gift was never meant for her. She lowered her head and quietly walked to the corner of the room. Her family quickly noticed the disappointed expression on the little monkey’s face. Lyly crossed her arms and avoided eye contact, clearly feeling hurt by the misunderstanding.
Seeing this, her mother gently approached Lyly and sat beside her. She softly hugged the little monkey and explained that the gift was for the neighbor’s baby because it was their birthday. Although Lyly could not fully understand every word, she slowly realized that her mother had not forgotten about her at all.
To cheer her up, her mother opened a small bag and revealed a sweet banana snack she had secretly bought especially for Lyly. The little monkey’s eyes instantly lit up again. Her sadness quickly disappeared, and she happily hugged her mother tightly.
A few moments later, Lyly even walked over to the neighbor’s baby and curiously examined the gift herself. Everyone laughed warmly as the misunderstanding finally ended. The touching moment showed how innocent Lyly truly was and how much she treasured her mother’s love and attention every single day.
