CUTIS was usually known for causing funny trouble around the village, but one morning, he surprised everyone with an unbelievable act of kindness. His mother had been feeling weak and tired for several days. She stayed in bed most of the time and barely had enough energy to cook or work in the garden. CUTIS quietly watched her from outside the room and felt very worried.
The little monkey remembered hearing the village doctor say that ripe papayas were healthy and full of vitamins. They could help his mother regain her strength. Determined to help, CUTIS came up with a secret plan. Before sunrise, while everyone was still asleep, he grabbed a small basket and sneaked out toward the papaya farm near the river.
The tall papaya trees swayed gently in the morning breeze. CUTIS carefully climbed one tree after another, searching for the ripest fruits. Some papayas were too green, while others were already pecked by birds. After a long search, he finally found several beautiful golden papayas hanging high above the ground.
Balancing carefully on the branches, CUTIS picked the fruits one by one and placed them into his basket. But suddenly, the branch cracked loudly beneath him! “Ahhh!” CUTIS shouted as he slipped and landed in a muddy puddle below. Covered in mud from head to toe, he looked absolutely hilarious. Even so, he refused to give up. He wiped the mud from his face, gathered the fallen papayas, and continued his mission.
When CUTIS returned home, he quietly prepared fresh papaya slices and a sweet papaya smoothie for his mother. She was shocked to see the table full of healthy fruit. “Who did this?” she asked softly.
CUTIS shyly stepped forward, still covered in dried mud. His mother’s eyes filled with tears as she realized how much effort her little son had made just for her health. She hugged him tightly and thanked him for being so caring.
From that day on, everyone in the village stopped seeing CUTIS as only a naughty monkey. Deep inside, he had a loving heart that would do anything to protect his mother.
