One beautiful morning, little monkey Zika woke up feeling excited and full of energy. As he looked outside, he noticed his dad preparing baskets and tools for a trip to the cornfield. Curious as always, Zika hurried over and asked what they were going to do.
“We’re harvesting corn today,” Dad said with a smile. “And if we collect enough, we can make delicious popcorn later!”
The moment Zika heard the word popcorn, his eyes lit up with excitement. It was one of his favorite snacks. Without hesitation, he volunteered to help.
At the cornfield, rows of tall golden corn stretched as far as the eye could see. Dad showed Zika how to identify the ripest ears of corn. Zika listened carefully and quickly learned the difference between ready-to-pick corn and corn that needed more time to grow.
Soon, the clever little monkey was hard at work. He carefully pulled ripe ears from the stalks and placed them neatly into a basket. Whenever Dad missed a hidden ear of corn, Zika would point it out proudly. His sharp eyes and attention to detail made the harvest much faster.
As the sun climbed higher, the baskets became fuller and fuller. Dad was impressed by how helpful Zika had been.
“You’re a super smart helper today,” Dad said.
Zika beamed with pride and worked even harder.
After the harvest was finished, they carried the corn home. Dad selected the best kernels and showed Zika how popcorn is made. Together, they prepared the corn and placed it in a special pot.
A few minutes later, the kitchen filled with exciting popping sounds.
Pop! Pop! Pop!
Zika jumped with joy as fluffy popcorn began filling the pot. The delicious smell spread throughout the house, making everyone eager to taste it.
When the popcorn was ready, Dad and Zika shared a big bowl together. Each bite tasted even better because they had worked as a team to make it.
As they enjoyed their homemade snack, Dad thanked Zika for all his help. Zika felt happy knowing that his hard work had made a difference.
