Dark clouds filled the sky early in the morning, and soon heavy rain began pouring everywhere. The wind blew strongly while water splashed across the yard. Everyone stayed safely inside the house, watching the storm from the windows.
But little monkey Zika was too excited.
He loved rainy days more than anything. The puddles, the cool water, and the sound of rain made him want to play outside immediately. Even though Uncle warned him not to go out, Zika secretly waited until nobody was watching.
The naughty little monkey quietly opened the door and ran outside into the storm.
At first, Zika had the best time ever. He jumped into muddy puddles, chased falling leaves, and spun around happily under the rain. His laughter could be heard across the yard as water soaked his fur completely.
But after a long time playing in the cold rain, Zika started shivering.
His body felt weak, and his energy slowly disappeared. When Uncle finally found him outside, Zika was sitting quietly beside a puddle, trembling from the cold.
“Oh no, Zika!” Uncle quickly rushed over and carried him back inside.
They immediately dried his wet fur with warm towels and wrapped him in a blanket. But later that night, Zika’s condition became worse. His little face looked tired, and his body felt extremely hot.
Zika had developed a very high fever.
Uncle became worried and stayed beside him the entire night. He gently placed a cool cloth on Zika’s forehead, gave him warm soup, and carefully checked his temperature again and again.
Usually playful and energetic, Zika now looked weak and sleepy. Seeing him sick made everyone in the house feel sad.
After resting for several days and receiving lots of love and care, Zika slowly recovered. His fever finally disappeared, and his cheerful smile returned once again.
The first thing Zika did after feeling better was apologize to Uncle for not listening.
From that day on, whenever heavy rain started falling outside, Zika would sit safely by the window instead of running into the storm.
Even naughty little monkeys can learn important lessons the hard way!
