One bright morning, CUTIS woke up with a very important idea. He had been thinking about it for days and finally decided that today was the perfect time to ask his mom for permission.
CUTIS wanted to do something special all by himself. He wanted to prepare a surprise gift for his family and decorate the living room with colorful drawings and handmade crafts. However, he knew his mom might worry that he would make a mess or need too much help.
As soon as Mom finished breakfast, CUTIS followed her around the house with a big smile. He gently held her hand and looked up with his sweetest eyes.
“Mom, can I do something special today?” he asked.
Mom smiled but wasn’t convinced right away. “What kind of special thing?” she replied.
CUTIS excitedly explained his plan. He wanted to create a surprise family appreciation corner filled with pictures, flowers, and little notes saying kind things about everyone.
Although the idea sounded lovely, Mom still hesitated. “That’s a lot of work, CUTIS. Are you sure you can handle it carefully?”
Instead of complaining or begging, CUTIS used the sweetest way possible to convince her. First, he gave Mom a warm hug. Then he helped clean the kitchen without being asked. He even folded some clothes and organized his toys neatly.
Mom noticed his effort and responsibility.
A little later, CUTIS surprised her again by making a handmade card that read, “Thank you, Mom, for always taking care of me. I want to make everyone smile today.”
The heartfelt message melted Mom’s heart.
“You’ve worked very hard and shown me how responsible you can be,” she said. “I think you deserve a chance.”
CUTIS jumped with joy and immediately got started. He spent the afternoon drawing colorful pictures, arranging flowers, and writing sweet messages for each family member.
When everyone saw the finished surprise, they were touched by his kindness and creativity. The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and love.
That day, CUTIS learned that kindness, responsibility, and a caring heart can be the best way to earn trust. And Mom couldn’t have been prouder of her thoughtful little boy.
