monkey LYLY loved one thing more than bananas—her favorite pink teddy bear. She carried it everywhere she went, whether she was playing in the yard, watching cartoons, or taking naps. The teddy bear was her most treasured possession.
One morning, LYLY woke up and immediately looked for her teddy. To her surprise, it was nowhere to be found. She searched under her blanket, behind the couch, and even inside the kitchen cabinets. But the toy had completely disappeared.
“Mom, have you seen my teddy bear?” LYLY asked anxiously.
Her mother smiled and simply replied, “Maybe you should keep looking.”
LYLY spent the entire morning searching. She looked in every corner of the house but still couldn’t find it. Feeling frustrated and sad, she sat quietly in the living room.
Just then, she noticed a small piece of pink fabric sticking out from a basket in her mother’s room. Curious, LYLY carefully walked over and peeked inside. There it was—her beloved teddy bear!
LYLY was shocked. “Mom hid my toy!” she thought.
At first, she felt upset. Why would her mother hide something she loved so much? Carrying the teddy bear, LYLY marched toward her mother, ready to complain.
Before she could speak, Mom gently sat beside her and explained.
“LYLY, I didn’t hide it to make you sad. Yesterday, your teddy bear got very dirty from being dragged through the garden. I wanted to wash and repair it while you were sleeping so it would look brand new again.”
LYLY looked closely at the teddy bear. She noticed the fabric was clean, the loose stitching had been fixed, and even the small ribbon around its neck had been replaced.
Suddenly, LYLY understood everything.
Her disappointment quickly turned into gratitude. She hugged both her teddy bear and her mother tightly.
“Thank you, Mom!” she said with a big smile.
That evening, LYLY and her teddy enjoyed a cozy nap together. She learned that sometimes things aren’t always what they seem, and that her mother’s actions were filled with love and care from the very beginning.
And that was the happiest ending LYLY could have imagined.
