It was a hot afternoon, and everyone in the house was trying to stay cool. Dad had left his favorite electric fan in the living room, but lately it had been making strange rattling noises. Every time it spun, it sounded like it was complaining about the summer heat.
CUTIS noticed the problem and decided he had an important mission.
“I’m going to fix Dad’s fan!” he proudly announced to himself.
Without telling anyone, CUTIS gathered a few “tools” he thought a repair expert would need. He grabbed a toy screwdriver, a small cloth, and even a roll of tape. Feeling like a professional mechanic, he quietly approached the fan.
The fan was turned off, and CUTIS carefully inspected it. He crouched down, tilted his head, and stared at the blades as if solving a complicated mystery.
“Hmm… I know exactly what’s wrong,” he whispered confidently, even though he had no idea.
CUTIS wiped the fan with the cloth and poked at a few harmless spots with his toy screwdriver. Then he added a tiny piece of tape to a loose sticker on the side. In his mind, the repair was going perfectly.
Just as he was proudly admiring his work, Dad walked into the room.
“What are you doing?” Dad asked.
CUTIS froze.
For a moment, he looked like a deer caught in headlights. The toy screwdriver slipped from his hand, and his eyes grew wide.
“I… um… I’m fixing your fan!” he finally admitted.
Dad couldn’t help laughing at the sight. There stood CUTIS, surrounded by his toy tools, looking very serious despite being caught red-handed.
Instead of scolding him, Dad thanked him for trying to help. He explained that electrical appliances should only be repaired by adults and showed CUTIS how to stay safe around them.
CUTIS nodded and listened carefully.
To reward his good intentions, Dad let him help clean the outside of the fan with a soft cloth. Together, they made it look shiny and new.
By the end of the day, everyone was laughing about CUTIS’s secret repair mission. Although he didn’t actually fix the fan, his determination and helpful spirit made the whole family smile.
