It was a bright and cheerful afternoon, and little CUTIS was having the time of his life playing around the house. He had built towers with blocks, chased his favorite toy around the living room, and was already planning his next adventure.
But then Dad looked at the clock and smiled.
“Nap time, CUTIS!” he announced.
CUTIS froze in place.
Nap time? Already? There were still so many important things to do! There were toys to organize, cushions to climb, and snacks to think about. CUTIS simply wasn’t ready for a nap.
As Dad headed to prepare the bedroom, the clever little monkey came up with a hilarious plan.
“If Dad can’t see the time,” CUTIS seemed to think, “then maybe nap time won’t happen!”
Quietly and carefully, CUTIS reached for the wall clock and hid it behind a cushion on the sofa. Then he spotted Dad’s phone resting on the table.
With a mischievous grin, he grabbed the phone and tucked it safely under a blanket in his play area.
Mission accomplished!
A few minutes later, Dad returned to discover something very strange.
“The clock is gone?” he laughed.
Then he searched for his phone.
“My phone disappeared too?”
CUTIS sat nearby, trying his hardest to look innocent while avoiding eye contact. But the tiny smile on his face gave everything away.
Dad began searching around the room until he finally discovered the hidden clock and the missing phone. The mystery was solved!
When Dad looked over at CUTIS, the little monkey burst into excited chatter as if proudly explaining his brilliant strategy.
Dad couldn’t stop laughing.
“Nice try, CUTIS,” he said, gently picking him up.
Although the clever plan didn’t cancel nap time after all, it certainly made the afternoon much more entertaining.
As CUTIS snuggled into bed, he gave Dad one last playful look that seemed to say, “Maybe my next plan will work better!”
With CUTIS around, every day was filled with laughter, surprises, and unforgettable moments.
