CUTIS woke up early that morning with one important mission in mind: he wanted to spend the whole day playing with Dad. Unfortunately for the little monkey, Dad had a lot of work to finish and was already preparing his tools and getting ready to leave.
CUTIS was not happy about this at all.
As Dad headed toward the door, CUTIS quickly came up with a clever plan to stop him from working. First, he quietly hid one of Dad’s shoes behind the sofa, thinking Dad wouldn’t be able to leave without finding it.
Dad looked around for a few minutes before smiling and finding the missing shoe almost immediately.
Plan number one had failed.
Not ready to give up, CUTIS moved on to his second idea. He climbed onto Dad’s lap and wrapped his tiny arms tightly around him, refusing to let go.
“Dad stays home today!” CUTIS seemed to say with his adorable expression.
Dad laughed and gave him a big hug, but the work still had to be done.
Determined to succeed, CUTIS launched his final and funniest plan. He grabbed Dad’s hat and ran around the house with it, hoping to delay the trip for just a little longer.
The chase that followed had everyone laughing.
CUTIS ran from room to room proudly holding the hat while Dad pretended to chase after him. For a moment, it looked like the little monkey might actually win.
But eventually, Dad gently retrieved his hat and prepared to leave once again.
Seeing that all his plans had failed, CUTIS sat quietly with a disappointed face.
Dad knelt down, gave him a warm hug, and promised to come home early to play together.
That promise instantly brought CUTIS’s smile back.
As Dad walked away, CUTIS waved goodbye from the doorway, already planning new tricks for tomorrow.
