LYLY Was Disappointed Because Her Aunt Was Engrossed in Her Phone and Not Paying Attention to Her

LYLY had been excited all morning because her favorite aunt was coming to visit. As soon as she heard the door open, the little monkey rushed over with a huge smile, eager to show off her newest toys and spend quality time together. She had imagined a day full of laughter, games, and warm hugs.

But things did not go as LYLY had hoped.

The moment her aunt sat down, she pulled out her phone and became completely absorbed in it. She scrolled through social media, replied to messages, and watched videos without noticing the little monkey waiting beside her. LYLY patiently held up her favorite stuffed toy, hoping her aunt would look up, but there was no response.

Feeling confused, LYLY tried again. She gently tugged on her aunt’s sleeve and even performed a funny little dance that usually made everyone laugh. Still, her aunt’s eyes remained fixed on the screen.

The cheerful monkey slowly became quiet. She sat down on the floor with her toy in her lap, her happy smile fading into a disappointed expression. Her tiny face showed exactly how she felt—she didn’t want gifts or snacks. She simply wanted her aunt’s attention.

After a few minutes, LYLY quietly walked away to play alone. That was when her aunt finally looked up from her phone and noticed the room had become unusually silent. She saw LYLY sitting by herself in a corner, looking sad instead of playful.

Realizing what had happened, her aunt immediately put the phone away and walked over to the little monkey. She apologized with a warm hug and told LYLY she was sorry for getting distracted. To make it up to her, they spent the rest of the afternoon building block towers, playing hide-and-seek, drawing colorful pictures, and sharing delicious fruit together.

Before long, LYLY’s bright smile returned, and her laughter once again filled the house. The special day turned into a wonderful memory after all.

This heartwarming story reminds us that the people we love value our time and attention far more than anything on a phone. Sometimes, putting the screen down for just a little while can create precious moments that last a lifetime.
