Lost Contact with Cutis at Market, Mom Worries While Looking

It was a bright and cheerful morning when Mom and Cutis headed to the busy village market. The colorful stalls were filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, and delicious snacks. Cutis loved exploring the market and promised Mom he would stay close while they shopped for dinner.

As they walked through the crowded aisles, Cutis became fascinated by a stand selling bright balloons shaped like animals. He stopped for just a moment to admire them. At the same time, a large group of shoppers passed between him and Mom. When the crowd cleared, Cutis realized he could no longer see her.

“Mom?” Cutis called softly, looking around. The busy market suddenly felt much bigger than before.

Meanwhile, Mom turned around after picking up a basket of tomatoes and noticed Cutis was gone. Her smile disappeared, and she quickly searched the nearby stalls. She asked fruit sellers, vegetable vendors, and friendly shoppers if they had seen a little monkey wearing a blue shirt and a red cap.

Cutis remembered what Mom had always taught him: if you become separated, stay calm, don’t wander around, and ask a trusted adult for help. Instead of running through the market, he walked to a nearby information booth where a kind security guard greeted him.

The guard smiled warmly and asked for Cutis’s name and his mother’s name. He then made a clear announcement over the market’s loudspeaker, asking Mom to come to the information booth.

Across the market, Mom heard the announcement and hurried toward the booth as fast as she could. When she saw Cutis waiting safely with the guard, relief filled her heart. She rushed over, gave him a big hug, and thanked the security guard for helping.

“I’m sorry I wandered away,” Cutis said. “I should have stayed beside you.”

Mom smiled gently. “The important thing is that you stayed calm and asked the right person for help. I’m very proud of you.”

Afterward, they finished shopping together, keeping close to one another. On the way home, they talked about the importance of staying together in crowded places and knowing what to do if they ever became separated.

That day, Cutis learned that staying calm, following safety rules, and seeking help from trusted adults can quickly turn a frightening moment into a happy reunion.
