One peaceful morning, little monkey LYLY slowly opened her sleepy eyes. She stretched her arms, let out a big yawn, and climbed out of bed. Her fluffy hair was sticking up in every direction after a long night’s sleep, but she had no idea how funny she looked.
As LYLY wandered through the house, she noticed a shiny mirror leaning against the wall. Curious, she walked closer. The moment she looked into it, she jumped backward in surprise!
“Who are you?” LYLY squeaked, staring at the messy little monkey in front of her.
The monkey in the mirror seemed to copy everything she did. When LYLY tilted her head, the other monkey tilted its head too. When she waved her hand, the mysterious monkey waved back.
“Oh no!” LYLY cried. “There’s another monkey in the house!”
She hurried to find Mom, who couldn’t help smiling when she saw LYLY’s frightened face.
“Mom! There’s a funny monkey in the mirror!” LYLY exclaimed. “It keeps copying everything I do!”
Mom gently held LYLY’s hand and walked with her back to the mirror.
“Don’t worry,” Mom said with a warm smile. “Let’s take another look together.”
LYLY peeked carefully. This time, Mom stood beside her. Both reflections smiled back.
Mom explained, “That’s not another monkey. It’s your reflection. A mirror shows what is in front of it.”
Still curious, LYLY began experimenting. She jumped, danced, made silly faces, and spun in circles. Each time, her reflection copied every move perfectly.
Soon, LYLY burst into laughter. “So that’s me! My hair is so messy!”
Mom giggled and handed LYLY a small brush. Together, they combed her fluffy hair until it looked neat and tidy. When LYLY looked into the mirror again, she smiled proudly.
“I like this monkey much better!” she laughed.
From that day on, LYLY was no longer afraid of mirrors. Every morning, she happily checked her reflection, brushed her hair, and made funny faces just to make herself and Mom laugh.
Sometimes, a surprising moment can become a wonderful lesson. LYLY learned that mirrors don’t hide mysterious strangers—they simply help us see ourselves, reminding us to smile and start each new day with confidence and joy.
