Bath time had finally arrived, but Baby Monkey had other plans. The moment Dad filled the little tub with warm water and fluffy bubbles, Baby Monkey quietly tiptoed toward the back door with a mischievous grin.
“If I stay very quiet,” he whispered, “Dad will never find me!”
He carefully slipped outside and hid behind a large banana tree in the garden. From there, he could see Dad carrying a soft towel and calling, “Bath time, little one! Where did you go?”
Baby Monkey covered his mouth to stop himself from giggling. He thought his hiding place was perfect.
Dad searched around the house, checked the playroom, and even looked behind the couch. “Hmm,” Dad smiled, pretending to be puzzled. “I wonder where my little monkey could be.”
Feeling confident, Baby Monkey decided to sneak farther into the garden. But as he stepped over a small log, he accidentally slipped into a muddy puddle left behind by the morning rain.
“Oops!” he squealed.
In just a few seconds, his clean little feet, fluffy fur, and even his tiny tail were covered in sticky brown mud. Leaves clung to his head, and his face looked funnier than ever.
Hearing the splash, Dad hurried outside and quickly spotted the muddy little monkey trying to hide behind a bush.
“There you are!” Dad laughed gently.
Baby Monkey looked down with an embarrassed smile. His clever escape had turned into an even bigger mess.
“I… I didn’t want a bath,” Baby Monkey admitted quietly.
Dad knelt beside him and brushed a leaf off his head. “Bath time isn’t meant to spoil your fun,” he said kindly. “It’s how we stay clean, healthy, and comfortable—especially after playing outside.”
Baby Monkey nodded, realizing Dad was right.
Back inside, Dad filled the tub with fresh warm water and plenty of bubbles. This time, Baby Monkey happily climbed in without complaining. They splashed gently, played with floating toy ducks, and even made funny bubble beards that made them both laugh.
After the bath, Dad wrapped Baby Monkey in a soft, warm towel and gave him a big hug.
“You smell much better now!” Dad said with a smile.
Baby Monkey giggled and hugged Dad back. “Next time,” he promised, “I won’t run away from bath time.”
From that day on, bath time became one of Baby Monkey’s favorite moments, filled with laughter, bubbles, and precious memories shared with Dad.
