It was a bright and peaceful morning on the family farm. The chickens were happily clucking around the coop while the sun slowly rose above the trees. Little monkey Zika woke up with a rumbling tummy and dreamed of having a delicious breakfast. As he stretched and looked around the yard, he spotted several fresh eggs resting in the chickens’ nesting boxes.
Zika’s eyes grew wide with excitement. “Those eggs would make a perfect breakfast!” he thought. Instead of asking Dad for permission, the clever little monkey quietly tiptoed toward the chicken coop. He carefully looked left, then right, making sure no one was watching.
One by one, Zika gently picked up the eggs and placed them into a small basket. The curious chickens clucked loudly as if they were trying to warn everyone, but Zika simply smiled and hurried away before anyone noticed.
Back in the outdoor kitchen, Zika proudly gathered a few vegetables from the garden and found a small frying pan. He watched carefully as Dad usually cooked breakfast, so he tried to copy every step. He cracked the eggs into the pan, stirred them gently, and added chopped tomatoes and fresh herbs. The wonderful smell soon filled the air.
Just as Zika was about to enjoy his homemade breakfast, Dad walked into the kitchen. He looked at the empty basket in Zika’s hands and then toward the chicken coop. It didn’t take long to figure out where the eggs had come from.
Dad smiled and gently asked, “Zika, did you remember to ask before taking the eggs?”
Zika lowered his head with an embarrassed grin. He admitted that he had taken them without asking because he was so hungry. Instead of getting angry, Dad used the moment to teach an important lesson. He explained that even if something belongs to the family, it’s always polite to ask first and to help collect the eggs properly.
Feeling sorry, Zika apologized and promised to do better next time. Together, they returned to the chicken coop, checked on the hens, and collected a few more eggs the right way. Dad even showed Zika how to thank the chickens by giving them fresh food and clean water.
In the end, the two enjoyed a delicious breakfast together. Zika learned that being smart isn’t just about finding clever shortcuts—it’s also about being honest, responsible, and showing respect. That morning became a memorable lesson filled with laughter, teamwork, and a very tasty meal.
