Baby Monkey had not been acting like himself all morning. Usually full of energy, he now sat quietly in his favorite spot, holding his little tummy and looking tired. His dad noticed the change right away and gently asked if he was feeling okay. Baby Monkey forced a small smile and nodded, trying to act brave even though he felt uncomfortable.
Dad wasn’t convinced. He checked Baby Monkey’s forehead, packed a small bag with water and snacks, and decided it was time to visit the doctor. Baby Monkey took a deep breath and held Dad’s hand tightly as they made their way to the clinic.
The waiting room was filled with colorful toys and cheerful pictures on the walls, but Baby Monkey couldn’t relax. He kept glancing toward the examination room, wondering what the doctor would do. Dad sat beside him, gently rubbing his shoulder and reminding him that the visit would help him feel better.
Soon, the nurse called Baby Monkey’s name. The friendly doctor welcomed them with a warm smile and spoke in a calm voice. First, the doctor listened to Baby Monkey’s heartbeat, checked his temperature, and gently pressed on his tummy to find out where it hurt. Baby Monkey stayed as still as he could, determined to be courageous.
After the examination, the doctor explained that Baby Monkey had a minor stomach illness and would need some medicine to help him recover. As the treatment began, Baby Monkey’s brave expression suddenly faded. Seeing the medical tools made him nervous, and he couldn’t hold back his tears. He squeezed Dad’s hand tightly and let out a little cry.
Dad stayed close, speaking softly and encouraging him with kind words. “You’re doing a wonderful job,” he said. “I know this feels scary, but it will be over very soon.”
The doctor worked gently and carefully, making sure Baby Monkey was as comfortable as possible. Within just a few moments, the treatment was finished. The doctor praised Baby Monkey for his courage and handed him a colorful sticker for being such a brave patient.
On the way home, Baby Monkey rested against Dad’s shoulder, already feeling calmer. Dad reminded him that being brave doesn’t mean never crying—it means facing something difficult even when you’re scared.
After taking his medicine, drinking plenty of water, and getting lots of rest, Baby Monkey felt much better over the next few days. The experience taught him that with the love of family, kind doctors, and a little courage, even the scariest moments can lead to feeling healthy and happy again.
