It was a quiet afternoon in the peaceful countryside. Mom Monkey was busy watering the flowers and preparing fresh fruit for the family’s snack. Everything seemed calm until she realized she hadn’t seen little Abu for quite some time.
“Where could Abu be?” Mom wondered, looking around the yard.
She checked the garden, the playground, and Abu’s favorite tree, but he was nowhere to be found. Feeling a little worried, she called his name several times. There was no answer.
Just as Mom was about to search behind the barn, she heard a faint rustling sound coming from a nearby storage shed. She slowly opened the door and was surprised by what she saw.
There was Abu, sitting on the floor with a curious little kitten beside him. Around them were scattered gardening gloves, empty baskets, and a pile of colorful leaves. Abu had been trying to build a tiny “forest house” for his new furry friend.
The little monkey looked up with wide eyes.
“Mom! I wanted to surprise you,” he said shyly.
Mom sighed with relief, happy that Abu was safe. For a moment, she had imagined all kinds of scary situations. Seeing him smiling happily made all her worries disappear.
Although the shed was messy, Mom couldn’t help smiling at Abu’s creativity. Together, they carefully cleaned up the scattered tools and returned everything to its proper place.
Afterward, Mom suggested building the kitten a cozy shelter in the garden instead. Dad joined them with pieces of wood, while Abu eagerly gathered soft grass and leaves. Working together, the family created a comfortable little home for the kitten.
When the shelter was finished, the kitten curled up inside and purred contentedly. Abu laughed with joy, proud that his idea had turned into something even better with his family’s help.
Mom gently hugged Abu and reminded him, “If you ever want to make a surprise, always let someone know where you are first. We worry because we love you.”
Abu nodded and gave Mom a big hug.
“I’m sorry for making you worry,” he said. “Next time, I’ll tell you before I go.”
As the sun began to set, the family admired the kitten’s new home together. The unexpected discovery had started as a worrying moment, but it ended with smiles, teamwork, and an important lesson about communication, responsibility, and the love that keeps every family close.
