It was a bright and beautiful morning on the little family farm when young farmer CUTIS grabbed his tiny basket and gardening shovel. Today was the perfect day to harvest the potatoes he had spent weeks growing with love and care. Excited to see the results of his hard work, CUTIS hurried to the garden while humming a cheerful tune.
As he gently dug into the soft soil, round golden potatoes appeared one after another. “Wow! They’re so big!” CUTIS laughed happily. He carefully brushed the dirt off each potato and placed them into his basket. Before long, it was overflowing with fresh potatoes, making him feel proud of all the time he had spent watering and caring for the plants.
Instead of taking the harvest straight home, CUTIS had a fun idea. He gathered a few dry sticks, built a small campfire in a safe spot with Dad watching nearby, and placed several potatoes into the warm ashes to roast. The delicious smell soon filled the fresh country air.
While waiting, CUTIS noticed his friendly goat wandering around the garden, curiously sniffing the air. The goat slowly walked closer, wondering where the wonderful smell was coming from. CUTIS giggled and gently patted his furry friend.
When the potatoes were perfectly roasted, CUTIS carefully peeled one open. Warm steam floated into the air, revealing the soft, fluffy potato inside. After letting it cool, he broke off a small piece and offered it to the goat.
The goat sniffed it carefully before taking a gentle bite. A moment later, it happily wagged its tail and eagerly reached for another piece. CUTIS burst into laughter as the goat chewed with obvious delight. Soon, they were sharing the roasted potatoes together under the shade of a large tree.
Dad watched the sweet scene with a proud smile. He reminded CUTIS that kindness means caring not only for family and friends but also for the animals that share the farm.
As the sun began to set, CUTIS, the happy goat, and Dad walked home together with the remaining potatoes. Their simple afternoon became a heartwarming memory, proving that sharing even the smallest harvest can create the biggest smiles.
