One peaceful afternoon, LYLY came home after spending time exploring the garden and collecting colorful flowers. She was excited to surprise her mother with the beautiful bouquet she had picked. As she quietly walked toward the house, she imagined the warm hug and happy smile her mother would give her.
But when LYLY reached the living room, she stopped in her tracks.
There was her mother, comfortably sitting on a soft chair with Tommy the cat curled up happily on her lap. Tommy purred gently while her mother stroked his fluffy fur with a loving smile. They looked so peaceful together that LYLY suddenly felt left out.
Her cheerful expression quickly faded. She lowered her head and quietly placed the flowers on the table without saying a word. In her little heart, she wondered if her mother had forgotten about her. “Maybe Tommy is Mom’s favorite now,” she thought sadly.
Her mother noticed LYLY’s silence and realized something was wrong. She gently called LYLY over, but the little monkey hesitated. After a few moments, LYLY admitted that she felt disappointed because she wanted to spend time with her mother too.
The mother smiled warmly and opened her arms. She explained that she loved Tommy because he needed affection, but that could never replace the special love she had for LYLY. She invited LYLY to sit beside her, and together they gently petted Tommy. Soon, the playful cat climbed onto both of their laps, making them laugh together.
To make the afternoon even more special, the family shared fresh fruit and played games in the yard. Tommy chased butterflies while LYLY happily ran beside him, and their mother cheered them on with a bright smile.
By the end of the day, LYLY realized that love is not something that has to be shared less when someone new joins the family. A caring heart always has room for everyone. Instead of feeling jealous, LYLY learned that sharing love creates even more happiness.
As the sun slowly set, LYLY hugged her mother tightly while Tommy purred beside them. It became a sweet reminder that family love grows stronger when kindness, understanding, and forgiveness are shared with one another.
