It was supposed to be a calm and peaceful morning, but Lily had other plans. The playful little monkey woke up full of energy and curiosity, ready to explore every corner of the house. Her mother smiled, knowing that Lily’s adventurous spirit often led to funny surprises. However, she had no idea what was about to happen next.
While Mom was busy preparing breakfast, Lily quietly wandered into the living room. She discovered a basket filled with clean clothes waiting to be folded. Thinking she was helping, Lily pulled every piece of clothing out and scattered them all over the floor. Then she found some colorful ribbons and happily tied them around the clothes, believing she was decorating them for a party.
When Mom walked in, she froze in surprise. The room looked like a whirlwind had swept through it! Socks were hanging from chairs, shirts were wrapped around pillows, and Lily sat proudly in the middle of the mess with the biggest smile on her face.
“Oh my goodness! How should I teach Lily?” Mom sighed, trying not to laugh.
Instead of shouting, Mom took a deep breath and knelt beside Lily. She gently explained that helping is wonderful, but it’s important to ask first and learn the right way. Lily looked down, realizing she had created extra work instead of making things easier.
Wanting to make things right, Lily quickly apologized and asked if she could help clean up. Mom happily agreed. Together, they folded the clothes neatly, sorted the socks into matching pairs, and placed everything back into the basket. Mom patiently showed Lily how to fold small towels and stack them carefully. Lily listened closely and practiced until she got it right.
Once the laundry was finished, Mom thanked Lily for trying her best. She reminded her that everyone makes mistakes while learning something new. What matters most is being honest, taking responsibility, and trying again.
Lily felt proud because she had learned an important lesson. Helping others isn’t just about enthusiasm—it also requires patience, listening, and care. Before long, the house was tidy again, and the two shared a warm hug.
