One sunny morning, something unexpected happened in CUTIS’ family that left Mom and Buem completely puzzled. Usually, CUTIS loved helping around the house, especially when it came to taking care of the baby. He would gently watch over the little one, bring toys, and proudly act like a tiny helper. But today was very different.
When Mom asked CUTIS to help keep an eye on the baby for a while, he suddenly shook his head and refused. Instead of staying inside, CUTIS quickly grabbed his small hat and walked straight toward the field where the cows were grazing. Mom and Buem looked at each other in surprise.
“Where is CUTIS going?” Buem asked, scratching his head in confusion.
From the window, they saw CUTIS walking confidently toward the herd of cows, holding a small stick like a real little farmer. He seemed very serious about his new mission. Instead of rocking the baby or playing nearby, he was now focused on guiding the cows gently across the grassy field.
Mom couldn’t help but laugh a little, though she was still confused. “Why does he suddenly want to herd cows today?” she wondered.
Meanwhile, CUTIS looked completely proud of himself. He walked carefully beside the cows, making sure they stayed together and didn’t wander too far. Every now and then, he waved his tiny stick in the air like a professional herder. The cows calmly followed his slow steps, as if they understood his determination.
Buem walked outside to watch him and called out, “CUTIS! Aren’t you supposed to help with the baby?”
CUTIS turned around with a big smile, clearly enjoying his new responsibility. It seemed that today, he wanted to be a hardworking little farmer more than a babysitter.
Mom eventually came outside too, holding the baby while watching CUTIS manage the cows with surprising focus. Although they were confused at first, they soon found the moment adorable.
Sometimes children simply follow their own little adventures. And on this particular day, CUTIS decided that herding cows was the most important job in the world. Mom and Buem could only smile at his funny yet determined decision.
