What Does Lily Do When Her Dad Has a High Fever? – Part 2

After spending a sleepless night caring for her dad, little Lily woke up early with only one thing on her mind—helping him feel better. Although Dad’s fever had gone down slightly, he was still weak and tired. Lily knew he needed plenty of rest, so she quietly began another day of taking care of him with all her love.

First, Lily gently checked Dad’s forehead with a cool cloth. It still felt warmer than usual, so she carefully replaced the cloth with a fresh, cool one. She encouraged Dad to drink more water, reminding him that staying hydrated would help him recover. Dad smiled softly, touched by how thoughtful his little helper had become.

Wanting to make Dad comfortable, Lily tidied up the room. She opened the window to let in a gentle breeze, swept the floor, and arranged his blanket so he could rest peacefully. She even placed a small flower from the garden beside his bed to brighten the room and bring a smile to his face.

Later, Mom prepared a warm bowl of light soup filled with fresh vegetables. Lily proudly carried the bowl to Dad, walking slowly and carefully so she wouldn’t spill a single drop. Dad thanked her warmly and enjoyed the comforting meal. Every spoonful gave him a little more strength.

To cheer him up, Lily told funny stories about the adventures she had in the garden. She copied the silly sounds of birds, acted like playful animals, and made hilarious faces that had Dad laughing despite feeling sick. His laughter filled the house with warmth and hope, making everyone feel happier.

As the afternoon passed, Dad’s fever continued to improve. He was finally able to sit up and enjoy the peaceful sunshine outside. Lily stayed close by, making sure he didn’t do too much too soon. Her kindness, patience, and loving care helped create the perfect environment for recovery.

By evening, Dad was smiling again and feeling much stronger. He hugged Lily tightly and thanked her for never leaving his side. Lily realized that the best medicine isn’t always found in a bottle—it can also come from love, patience, and caring for the people who matter most. Together, they ended the day grateful, hopeful, and ready for brighter days ahead.
