Monkey LYLY was sitting quietly near the doorway when she noticed her mother arriving home with several packages in her hands. Her eyes immediately lit up with curiosity. She rushed over, excited to see what was inside each colorful bag.
LYLY carefully watched as her mother placed the packages on the table. There seemed to be so many interesting things inside. She sat beside her mother and waited patiently, hoping that one of the packages might contain a special surprise just for her.
Her mother began opening them one by one. The first package contained something for the kitchen. The second had a few household items. The third package was filled with things her mother needed for the garden. LYLY leaned closer each time, but nothing seemed to be for her.
At first, LYLY remained hopeful. She kept looking at the unopened packages with sparkling eyes. But as her mother continued unpacking everything, LYLY slowly became disappointed.
Finally, there was only one package left. LYLY moved closer and stared at it with great expectation. Her mother opened it—and once again, it was something for the family.
LYLY’s expression immediately changed. Her little shoulders dropped, and she lowered her head. She looked so dejected that anyone watching her would have felt sorry for her. She quietly turned away and sat in the corner, pretending that she was no longer interested.
Her mother noticed LYLY’s sad face and couldn’t help but smile. She knew exactly what her little monkey was thinking.
“Are you sad because none of these packages are for you?” Mom asked gently.
LYLY glanced back at her mother but didn’t answer. Instead, she gave a tiny pout that made her mother laugh.
Mom then disappeared into another room and returned with a small surprise package she had secretly hidden. She placed it in front of LYLY.
LYLY’s eyes suddenly became huge. She cautiously opened the package and discovered a special little treat prepared just for her.
Her sadness instantly disappeared. She hugged her mother tightly and happily examined her surprise.
Mom smiled and reminded LYLY that sometimes the best surprises are worth waiting for. LYLY happily nodded, proving that her gloomy mood could turn into pure happiness in just a few seconds!
