One quiet afternoon, Lala and Mom were walking through their neighborhood when they heard faint whimpering coming from a small, old house at the end of the street. The sound was heartbreaking. Curious and worried, Lala gently pulled on Mom’s hand and asked if they could check what was happening. As they walked closer, the crying became louder. It sounded like tiny puppies begging for help.
When they peeked through the fence, their hearts sank. Inside the yard were several small puppies huddled together in a dirty corner. They looked hungry, scared, and weak. There was no clean water, no proper shelter, and the puppies seemed to have been left alone for a long time. Lala felt tears fill her eyes as she watched the little animals shiver.
Just then, the owner of the house came outside. Instead of caring for the puppies, the woman shouted angrily and pushed the puppies away when they came near her. Lala couldn’t believe what she was seeing. She whispered to Mom, “We have to help them.” Mom nodded sadly, realizing the puppies were not being treated kindly.
Lala and Mom stepped away from the fence to think carefully about what to do. They knew they couldn’t simply take the puppies without permission, but they also couldn’t ignore the suffering they had just seen. Mom suggested contacting the local animal rescue group and explaining the situation. Lala quickly agreed. Together, they took photos and notes so they could show proof of how the puppies were being treated.
Later that day, the rescue team arrived to investigate. After seeing the poor conditions, they decided the puppies needed immediate help. With proper permission and care, the puppies were safely taken away from the cruel environment.
Lala watched with relief as the tiny puppies were placed into warm blankets and given food and water. Their little tails slowly began to wag again. Mom smiled and hugged Lala, proud of her kind heart.
