The rain had finally stopped, leaving LYLY’s little home surrounded by puddles, wet leaves, and muddy footprints. The garden looked completely different from how it had looked that morning. Branches had fallen onto the path, toys were scattered everywhere, and the porch was covered in water and mud.
LYLY stood by the door and looked around with wide eyes. At first, she thought about waiting for her mother to clean everything. After all, her mother had been working hard all day and was now resting inside. But then LYLY noticed how tired her mother looked.
“I want to do something special for Mom,” LYLY whispered to herself.
Without making a sound, LYLY found a small broom and began sweeping the porch. She carefully pushed away the wet leaves and dirt, working slowly because the ground was slippery. Then she picked up her toys one by one and placed them neatly in their basket.
Next, LYLY walked into the garden. She gathered the fallen branches and moved them away from the path. Her little hands became muddy, and her clothes were covered with tiny splashes of dirt, but LYLY did not complain. She was determined to make everything clean and beautiful again.
Soon, LYLY noticed a few puddles near the doorway. She found a cloth and carefully wiped the water away. Then she arranged the chairs, straightened the flowerpots, and even cleaned the little table where her mother liked to sit and drink tea.
When everything was finished, LYLY stepped back and smiled proudly. The house looked neat and peaceful again. Although she was tired and messy, she felt happy inside.
A few moments later, her mother came outside.
She stopped in surprise.
“LYLY! Did you do all of this?” her mother asked.
LYLY nodded shyly.
Her mother looked around at the clean porch, the tidy garden, and LYLY’s muddy little clothes. Suddenly, her eyes filled with emotion. She gently hugged LYLY and said, “You are just like Cinderella today—but even more special, because you did this out of love.”
LYLY snuggled into her mother’s warm embrace, smiling happily. At that moment, she realized that even a small act of kindness could warm someone’s heart.
