It was bath time at home, and Baby Yen Nhu suddenly realized that her peaceful afternoon was about to come to an end. The moment Mom announced, “Yen Nhu, it’s time for your bath!” the little one froze.
She looked at Mom, then quickly looked at CUTIS.
CUTIS immediately understood.
With a mischievous expression, he walked over and stood between Baby Yen Nhu and Mom as if he were her tiny bodyguard. Yen Nhu happily crawled behind him, hoping CUTIS could somehow save her from the dreaded bathtub.
Mom stared at the two of them.
“CUTIS, what are you doing?” she asked.
CUTIS simply shook his head and pointed toward the door, pretending that Yen Nhu had suddenly become extremely busy.
Mom raised an eyebrow.
“Oh really? She has somewhere important to go?”
Yen Nhu seemed to agree. She quickly crawled away, giggling as CUTIS followed behind her. The two little troublemakers began their hilarious escape mission around the room.
First, Yen Nhu hid behind a chair. CUTIS stood in front of it, trying his best to block Mom’s view. Then they moved behind a curtain, where Yen Nhu covered her face while CUTIS peeked out to see if Mom was coming.
But Mom wasn’t fooled.
She crossed her arms and smiled.
“Nice try!”
CUTIS suddenly grabbed a toy and started playing with it, hoping to distract Mom. Yen Nhu joined him immediately, laughing as if bath time had completely disappeared from her memory.
Mom couldn’t hold back her laughter.
“You two planned this together, didn’t you?”
CUTIS looked innocent, while Yen Nhu gave the biggest smile possible.
Finally, Mom walked toward them. CUTIS tried one last trick—he gently hugged Yen Nhu and looked at Mom as if asking for just five more minutes.
Mom burst out laughing.
“Okay, okay! Five minutes. But after that, straight to the bath!”
CUTIS seemed satisfied with his negotiation skills, while Baby Yen Nhu clapped happily.
However, Mom knew their little escape wouldn’t last forever. Soon, she would have two very playful bath-time customers to handle.
As she watched CUTIS and Yen Nhu celebrate their temporary victory, Mom shook her head with a smile.
“They may have won this round,” she joked, “but Mom always wins bath time!”
