It was a quiet afternoon at home when Mom and Baby Monkey were enjoying some time together. Everything seemed normal until they suddenly noticed that Abu was nowhere to be seen.
“Where did Abu go?” Mom wondered.
Baby Monkey looked around the room, checking all his usual hiding places. The house was unusually quiet, and that made Mom a little concerned. She called Abu’s name softly, but there was no answer.
Then they heard something.
A faint crying sound came from the bedroom.
Mom immediately hurried toward the room, with Baby Monkey following closely behind. When they opened the door, they were shocked to see Abu sitting on the bed with tears rolling down his face.
“Abu!” Mom exclaimed.
Abu looked up at them but continued crying. He seemed sad and overwhelmed, and Mom’s heart immediately melted.
She sat beside him and gently pulled him into her arms.
“What happened, sweetheart?” she asked softly.
Baby Monkey climbed onto the bed and sat next to Abu. He looked worried too. He gently reached out and touched Abu’s arm, almost as if he were asking his friend to tell him what was wrong.
Abu slowly leaned against Mom.
For a moment, nobody knew what had happened. Mom carefully checked on him and made sure he was comfortable. She spoke in a calm, reassuring voice, reminding Abu that he wasn’t alone.
Baby Monkey tried to cheer him up in his own funny way. He picked up a pillow and placed it beside Abu, then made a silly face that normally made everyone laugh.
Abu looked at him through his tears.
A tiny smile finally appeared.
Mom smiled with relief.
“That’s better,” she whispered.
Baby Monkey became even more determined to make Abu happy. He brought over one of Abu’s favorite toys and placed it beside him. Then he sat close, refusing to leave his friend alone.
Slowly, Abu’s crying became quieter.
Mom gently wiped his tears and gave him a warm hug. She was still surprised to find him crying so suddenly, but she was grateful that she and Baby Monkey had discovered him quickly.
“Whenever you feel sad, come find Mom,” she told him.
Abu nodded and cuddled closer.
Baby Monkey then wrapped his little arms around Abu, creating the sweetest group hug.
The bedroom that had been filled with tears was soon filled with gentle smiles and laughter.
Mom realized that sometimes children don’t need complicated solutions when they are upset. They simply need someone to stay beside them, listen, and remind them that they are loved.
And with Mom and Baby Monkey beside him, Abu no longer felt alone. ❤️
