Early one bright morning, CUTIS woke up feeling excited. Today was a very special day because Dad had planned to harvest the vegetables from their family garden. The crops had been growing for many weeks, and now the field was filled with fresh, colorful produce.
CUTIS quickly put on his little hat and hurried outside to find Dad preparing baskets and tools.
“Dad, can I help with the harvest?” CUTIS asked eagerly.
Dad smiled. “Of course! But it looks like we may have another helper today.”
Just then, their friendly goat came walking toward them. The goat wagged its tail and bleated happily as if it wanted to join the adventure. CUTIS burst out laughing.
“Look, Dad! Goat wants to help too!”
The three friends headed to the garden. Dad began picking the ripe vegetables while CUTIS carefully collected them and placed them into a large basket. CUTIS was very proud of himself, but the goat had its own ideas. It kept wandering around and sniffing the vegetables.
At first, CUTIS worried that the goat might eat the harvest. But then he had a smart idea. He found some extra leaves and grass nearby and placed them in a separate area for the goat.
“This is for you, little helper,” CUTIS said.
The goat happily began eating the fresh grass and stopped trying to investigate the vegetable baskets. Dad laughed and praised CUTIS for solving the problem so quickly.
As the morning continued, CUTIS became even more helpful. He noticed that some baskets were getting too heavy, so he brought them closer to Dad instead of carrying them across the entire garden. The goat followed behind, making everyone laugh as it tried to stay involved.
Soon, the baskets were filled with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and other fresh vegetables. CUTIS looked proudly at the successful harvest.
“We did it, Dad!” he cheered.
Dad gave CUTIS a warm hug. “Yes, we did. You worked hard and used your smart ideas.”
The goat gave a cheerful little bleat, as if asking for some credit too!
CUTIS laughed and gently patted the goat. “You helped too, my friend!”
That day, Dad, CUTIS, and their adorable goat returned home with a wonderful harvest and happy memories. CUTIS learned that teamwork, smart thinking, and a little bit of fun can turn even a busy day on the farm into an unforgettable adventure.
