Early one beautiful morning, Lily woke up to the sound of her dad getting ready in the kitchen. The sun was just beginning to rise, and the cool morning air made the whole house feel peaceful.
Dad was planning to prepare a delicious breakfast for the family, but when he checked the kitchen, he realized they had run out of fresh corn.
“Lily, would you like to come with Dad to buy some corn?” he asked.
Lily immediately smiled and nodded. She loved spending time with her dad, especially when she could help him.
“Yes, Dad!” she happily replied.
Before leaving, Dad reminded Lily to stay close and listen carefully. Lily obediently followed him as they walked to the nearby market.
When they arrived, Lily was fascinated by all the fresh vegetables and fruits. She carefully followed Dad through the busy market without wandering away.
Dad stopped at a small vegetable stall and began choosing the best ears of corn. Lily stood beside him and watched carefully.
“Dad, this one looks nice!” Lily said, pointing at a bright yellow ear of corn.
Dad smiled. “Good choice, Lily!”
He handed her a small bag and asked her to help carry the corn. Lily proudly held the bag with both hands.
“Don’t worry, Dad. I can help!”
After buying enough corn for breakfast, they started walking home. Along the way, Lily carefully carried the bag and made sure nothing fell out.
When they reached home, Dad began preparing the kitchen. Lily quickly followed him and helped place the corn on the table.
“Thank you for being such a helpful girl,” Dad said warmly.
Lily smiled proudly.
Soon, Dad started cooking the corn along with other ingredients for a delicious breakfast. The wonderful smell filled the house, making Lily even more excited.
While waiting, Lily helped set the plates and spoons on the table. She listened to every instruction from Dad and completed each little task carefully.
Finally, breakfast was ready.
Dad placed the freshly cooked corn on the table, and Lily happily sat down beside him.
“This tastes so good!” Lily exclaimed.
Dad laughed and gave her a gentle hug.
“You helped make breakfast special today.”
Lily felt very happy. She realized that even a simple trip to buy corn could become a wonderful family memory when she helped her dad.
From that morning on, Lily became even more excited whenever Dad asked for her help. She loved being his little helper and making their mornings brighter together.
