It was a peaceful afternoon at home when Mom suddenly noticed that Abu was nowhere to be seen. Usually, Abu was busy helping around the house, playing with Baby Monkey, or making everyone laugh. But that day, the house felt strangely quiet.
Mom looked around the kitchen.
“Where did Abu go?” she wondered.
Baby Monkey also seemed curious. He looked toward the door and made a little sound as if asking where Dad was.
After searching inside the house, Mom finally spotted Abu sitting alone outside under a tree.
Something seemed different about him.
His head was lowered, and he wasn’t smiling like he usually did.
Mom immediately became concerned.
“Abu, what happened?” she asked gently.
Abu looked up but didn’t answer right away.
Baby Monkey hurried over and sat beside him. He carefully looked at Abu’s face, trying to understand why he seemed so sad.
Mom sat down beside them.
“Are you feeling okay?” she asked.
After a quiet moment, Abu finally explained what had happened. He had been working hard all morning, but something he had carefully prepared didn’t turn out the way he had hoped. He felt disappointed and thought everyone might be unhappy with him.
Mom listened patiently.
“Abu, one mistake doesn’t mean you failed,” she told him. “You worked hard, and that’s what matters.”
Baby Monkey seemed to agree. He gently reached out and held Abu’s hand.
Abu looked down at the little monkey and smiled for the first time.
“You came to cheer me up?” he asked.
Baby Monkey gave him a tiny hug.
Mom smiled warmly.
“See? You’re not alone. We’re always here for you.”
Abu’s sadness slowly disappeared. He realized that he had been focusing so much on his mistake that he had forgotten about all the things he had accomplished.
Mom suggested that they try again together.
Abu nodded.
The three of them returned inside, and Baby Monkey happily followed behind them. With Mom’s encouragement and Baby Monkey’s playful energy, Abu began working again.
This time, everything went much better.
When they finally finished, Abu looked at Mom and Baby Monkey with a big smile.
“Thank you for finding me,” he said.
Mom hugged him, while Baby Monkey climbed happily into his arms.
What had started as a sad afternoon ended with laughter, love, and a reminder that even when things don’t go according to plan, having family beside you can make everything feel better.
