One bright morning, Lily woke up feeling excited. Dad was getting ready for work, wearing his clean uniform and carefully packing his lunch.
“Be good while I’m away,” Dad said, smiling at Lily.
Lily nodded, but she was feeling playful. She followed Dad outside and watched him ride away. Dad worked at a nearby farm, where he helped take care of the animals and kept everything clean and organized.
Later that morning, Lily became curious about Dad’s work bag. She remembered seeing him place some important papers inside before leaving. While Mom was busy in the kitchen, Lily quietly opened the bag.
Inside, she found a stack of papers with many numbers and notes. Lily did not understand what they were, but she thought they looked boring. Suddenly, a playful idea came into her mind.
She grabbed the papers and began folding them into little shapes.
One became a boat. Another became a fan. Then Lily accidentally tore one important paper into several pieces! 😲
At that moment, Dad came home unexpectedly.
“Lily! What happened?” he asked in shock.
Lily froze and looked at the torn papers scattered across the floor. Dad’s face became worried. The documents were important records he needed for his job.
Dad quickly collected the pieces, but some information could not be recovered. The next day, Dad explained what happened to his boss. Sadly, because the missing records caused a serious problem at work, Dad was told he could no longer keep his job.
When Dad returned home, he looked very sad.
Lily immediately knew she had made a terrible mistake. She slowly walked toward Dad with tears in her eyes. She hugged his leg and refused to let go.
“I’m sorry, Dad,” Lily whispered.
Mom comforted them both and reminded Lily that mistakes can teach us important lessons.
But then something surprising happened.
Lily began helping Dad every day. She cleaned the yard, helped Mom prepare vegetables, and even learned how to organize things carefully. Dad noticed how hard Lily was trying to make things right.
A few weeks later, Dad found a new job at another farm. This time, he came home smiling.
Lily ran into his arms, crying with happiness.
Dad hugged her tightly and said, “I forgive you. What matters most is that you learned from your mistake.”
From that day on, Lily always asked before touching Dad’s important belongings. And Dad’s new job became the beginning of a happier chapter for their little family. ❤️🐒
