One sunny morning, Monkey Lyly was helping her family around the house when she noticed Chicken Gao walking proudly around the yard.
Lyly watched him for a while and suddenly became curious.
“Hmm… I wonder how much Chicken Gao weighs now?” she wondered.
A few weeks earlier, Lyly had seen Dad weigh Chicken Gao. At that time, the chicken was much smaller. Since then, Gao had been eating well, running around the yard, and growing stronger every day.
Lyly decided it was time for another weight check.
She hurried to find Dad.
“Dad! Can we weigh Chicken Gao again?”
Dad smiled at her curiosity. “Of course, but we need to be gentle and make sure Gao is comfortable.”
Lyly nodded seriously.
Together, they prepared a small weighing scale. Dad carefully made sure everything was safe before bringing Chicken Gao over.
Gao looked at the scale suspiciously.
“Come on, Gao,” Lyly said softly. “It won’t take long!”
Chicken Gao took one step forward, then suddenly turned around.
“Gao! Wait!” Lyly giggled.
Dad laughed as they patiently tried again. This time, Gao stood still for a moment.
Lyly stared at the number on the scale with wide eyes.
“Wow! He got heavier!”
She was amazed by how much Chicken Gao had grown.
“Dad, does this mean he is getting bigger and stronger?”
“That’s right,” Dad explained. “A healthy chicken can grow quite a lot as time passes. We just need to give him proper food, clean water, and a safe place to live.”
Lyly nodded thoughtfully.
She gently watched Gao peck at the ground and walk around the yard.
“I’m going to take good care of you, Gao!”
Just as Lyly finished speaking, Chicken Gao suddenly flapped his wings and ran across the yard.
“Hey! Come back!”
Lyly chased after him, laughing.
Dad watched the two of them with a big smile.
Later, Lyly wrote down Gao’s weight so she could compare it again in the future. She was excited to see how much he would grow.
From that day on, Lyly became fascinated with watching Chicken Gao grow. Every time she saw him, she wondered, “I wonder how heavy Gao is now?”
