One peaceful morning, Monkey Lyly was happily playing near her home when she noticed her friendly neighbor walking toward the house with a mysterious package in his hands. Lyly immediately became curious. She tilted her head, watched carefully, and wondered what could be inside.
“Lyly, I have something special for you!” the neighbor said with a big smile.
Lyly excitedly came closer and carefully accepted the gift. She gently shook the package, trying to figure out what was hidden inside. Her eyes became wide with excitement when she heard something moving.
With a little help from Mom, Lyly opened the package. Inside was a beautiful little basket filled with fresh fruit, some healthy snacks, and a brand-new colorful toy. Lyly couldn’t believe her eyes!
She first picked up the toy and hugged it tightly. Then she noticed the delicious fruit and immediately looked at Mom, as if asking for permission to taste it.
Mom laughed and said, “You can have some, Lyly, but remember to share!”
Lyly nodded happily. Instead of eating everything herself, she began thinking about how she could make everyone happy.
She carefully carried the basket toward the kitchen. First, she gave some fruit to Mom. Then she took a few pieces outside for Dad. Finally, she brought the new toy to her little friends so they could play together.
The neighbor watched from nearby and was amazed by Lyly’s behavior.
“What a smart and thoughtful little monkey!” he said proudly.
But Lyly wasn’t finished. She noticed that one piece of fruit had fallen onto the ground. Instead of leaving it there, she picked it up and placed it in the compost area, just as Mom had taught her.
Everyone smiled and praised her.
The neighbor explained that he had given Lyly the gift because he had noticed how helpful and well-behaved she had become.
Lyly happily hugged her new toy, clearly understanding that the greatest gift wasn’t the basket itself—it was the kindness and love behind it.
From that day forward, Lyly remembered an important lesson: when someone gives you something with love, the best way to say thank you is to share your happiness with others.
