Bobo had never watched television before. One quiet afternoon, Dad decided it was finally time to introduce him to the magical box in the living room.
“Come on, Bobo. Let’s watch some TV!” Dad said.
Bobo looked at the television suspiciously. He walked around it, looked behind it, and even peeked underneath the table.
Dad laughed. “What are you looking for?”
Bobo seemed convinced that there must be tiny people hiding inside the box!
When Dad turned the television on, Bobo suddenly froze.
His eyes became huge.
A colorful cartoon appeared on the screen, and Bobo jumped backward in surprise. He stared at the moving characters as if he had just discovered something incredible.
Then one character made a funny sound.
Bobo tilted his head.
“Hmm?”
He moved closer to the screen.
When the character ran across the screen, Bobo quickly followed it from one side of the television to the other. Dad couldn’t stop laughing.
“Bobo, it’s only a cartoon!”
But Bobo wasn’t convinced.
Suddenly, a character on the screen appeared to wave.
Bobo immediately waved back!
Dad burst into laughter.
Bobo looked at Dad as if to say, “Did you see that? He waved at me!”
A few minutes later, Bobo became completely fascinated. He sat directly in front of the television, watching every movement carefully. Whenever something funny happened, he bounced excitedly and made adorable little sounds.
Then came the funniest moment.
A cartoon character disappeared behind a door.
Bobo immediately looked behind the television.
He checked the side.
He checked the back.
Then he looked at Dad with a confused expression.
Dad laughed so hard that he could barely speak.
“Bobo, the character didn’t come into the room. He’s still inside the TV!”
Bobo stared at the screen again, clearly trying to understand the mystery.
Soon, the cartoon ended. Bobo looked disappointed and gently touched the television screen.
Dad smiled and said, “Did you enjoy your first TV show?”
Bobo happily clapped his hands.
From that day on, Bobo had a new favorite activity. Whenever Dad walked toward the living room, Bobo would rush over and sit in front of the television, ready for another adventure.
