Lily woke up feeling especially confident one morning. After watching Dad prepare breakfast many times, she suddenly decided that today was the perfect day to show everyone her amazing cooking skills.
“I can cook too!” Lily seemed to say as she proudly walked into the kitchen.
Dad smiled and watched curiously as Lily began preparing for her big cooking performance. She carefully gathered some vegetables, fruit, and other ingredients from the kitchen. She looked very serious, as if she were a professional chef preparing a five-star meal.
First, Lily picked up a spoon and began mixing everything together. She stirred faster and faster, making a funny face while concentrating. Dad couldn’t help laughing as a few pieces of food accidentally fell onto the table.
But Lily wasn’t worried at all. She quickly picked them up and continued cooking like nothing had happened.
Next came the most exciting part—seasoning!
Lily carefully reached for a container and sprinkled a little into her bowl. Then she thought for a moment and added a little more. Dad immediately became nervous and gently tried to stop her before she turned the meal into something extremely salty!
Lily looked at Dad with a proud expression, as if she knew exactly what she was doing.
After mixing everything together, Lily proudly presented her creation to Dad. She waited excitedly for his reaction.
Dad took a tiny taste.
For a moment, he didn’t say anything.
Lily stared at him with wide, curious eyes.
Then Dad smiled and gave her a big thumbs-up. Lily became incredibly happy and started celebrating her cooking success.
Although the dish wasn’t exactly perfect, Dad praised Lily for trying her best. He explained that becoming a great cook takes practice, patience, and lots of fun.
Lily nodded seriously, then immediately grabbed another spoon and announced that she was ready to make a second dish!
Dad laughed and quickly prepared to help.
Soon, the kitchen was filled with laughter, funny cooking sounds, and a little bit of food scattered everywhere.
By the end of the day, Lily proudly believed she was the family’s newest chef.
And Dad secretly hoped tomorrow’s menu wouldn’t be quite as adventurous!
