It was a peaceful morning at home when Lyly noticed her mother preparing a basket of fresh ginseng roots. Her mother carefully gathered the roots and explained that they needed to be washed thoroughly before being used. Lyly watched closely, curious about what her mother was doing.
Wanting to help, Lyly quickly came over and picked up one of the roots. She carried it toward the washing area and began trying to clean it with water. At first, Lyly was very careful, gently rubbing the dirt from the roots with her little hands.
But the muddy roots were much dirtier than she expected!
As Lyly continued washing, water splashed everywhere. Mud stuck to her hands, arms, clothes, and even her face. Soon, the once-clean little monkey was covered in dirt. Instead of giving up, however, Lyly continued working because she wanted to help her mother.
Her mother watched from nearby and couldn’t help but smile. She saw how seriously Lyly was trying to finish the job. Even though Lyly was making a huge mess, her effort touched her mother’s heart.
Lyly proudly held up a clean ginseng root as if she had accomplished something important. Her mother came closer and gently wiped the mud from Lyly’s face. She gave her a loving hug and showed her how to wash the remaining roots more carefully.
Lyly seemed delighted by her mother’s praise. She continued helping, this time splashing a little less water—but still managing to get herself dirty again!
When all the ginseng roots were finally clean, Lyly looked at her muddy clothes and laughed. Her mother laughed too. Although the washing area was messy, her heart was filled with happiness because Lyly had shown such kindness and willingness to help.
Afterward, Mom carefully washed Lyly from head to toe. Lyly enjoyed her bath and seemed proud of her little adventure.
For Mom, the muddy clothes were nothing compared with the sweet memory of seeing Lyly try her best to help. Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness can bring the biggest smiles and make a mother’s heart feel truly warm. ❤️
