One sunny morning, little Monkey Lyly woke up feeling excited. She had been thinking about eating sweet, juicy sugar cane all morning. After finishing her breakfast, Lyly hurried outside and asked her mother to buy some fresh sugar cane for her. Her eyes sparkled with happiness as she imagined biting into the delicious treat.
Her mother smiled at Lyly’s excitement and took her to the nearby market. When they arrived, Lyly immediately spotted a large bundle of fresh sugar cane. She jumped up and down happily, pointing at it with both hands. Her mother bought a few pieces and carried them home.
As soon as they arrived, Lyly eagerly reached for a piece of sugar cane. However, just as she was about to take her first bite, her mother stopped her. Lyly looked confused and tilted her head, wondering why her mother wouldn’t let her enjoy the sweet treat.
Her mother gently explained that the sugar cane was too hard for Lyly to chew safely on her own. She needed to cut it into smaller, manageable pieces and remove the tough outer skin first. Unfortunately, Lyly had already become impatient. She wanted to eat it immediately!
When her mother took the sugar cane into the kitchen to prepare it, Lyly sat on a small chair with a disappointed expression. Her little face looked so sad that anyone who saw her would want to give her a comforting hug. She crossed her arms and refused to smile, believing that her mother was keeping her favorite snack away from her.
After a few minutes, her mother returned with a small plate of carefully prepared sugar cane pieces. She sat beside Lyly and showed her how to enjoy the treat safely. Suddenly, Lyly’s sad expression disappeared, and her eyes lit up with joy!
She happily tasted the sweet sugar cane and immediately began smiling. Then she hugged her mother tightly to thank her for taking such good care of her.
In the end, Lyly learned that sometimes waiting is necessary, even when we really want something. Her mother wasn’t trying to disappoint her; she simply wanted to keep her safe.
