CUTIS Refuses Treatment, Ignores All Dad’s Care…

The room felt heavy with worry as CUTIS turned her face away, refusing to look at Dad. Just hours earlier, she had been weak and feverish, barely able to move. Now, even though she still looked tired, she stubbornly pushed away every attempt Dad made to help her.

“Please, you need this,” Dad said gently, holding out the medicine.

But CUTIS shook her head and pulled the blanket over herself. She didn’t want the medicine, didn’t want the cool cloth, and didn’t even want to be checked on. Every time Dad came close, she turned away, quietly resisting his care.

Dad sighed, trying to stay calm. He knew she wasn’t being difficult on purpose—she was uncomfortable, maybe even scared. Still, it hurt to see her reject the very help that could make her feel better.

“I’m just trying to help you,” he said softly, sitting beside her.

CUTIS didn’t respond.

For a moment, the room fell silent except for the faint sound of her breathing. Dad thought carefully, realizing that forcing her would only make things worse. So instead, he changed his approach. He moved a little farther away, giving her space, but didn’t leave the room.

“I’ll stay right here,” he said. “Whenever you’re ready.”

Minutes passed slowly. CUTIS peeked out from under the blanket, glancing at Dad. He wasn’t pushing anymore—just sitting quietly, waiting. That small change seemed to soften her resistance.

Dad picked up the medicine again but didn’t move closer this time. “You don’t have to take it right now,” he said. “But it will help you feel better.”

CUTIS hesitated.

Her tiny hand slowly reached out, then pulled back again. She looked unsure, caught between discomfort and trust. Dad remained patient, his voice calm and reassuring.

Finally, after what felt like forever, CUTIS slowly sat up. She looked at Dad, her expression no longer defiant but tired and uncertain. With a small nod, she allowed him to come closer.

Dad smiled gently, careful not to rush. This time, when he offered the medicine, she accepted it.

It wasn’t just about treatment—it was about trust. And in that quiet moment, CUTIS chose to believe that Dad was truly there to help her feel safe again.
