Baby Monkey loved his home more than anything. It was the place where he played, ate his favorite snacks, and spent happy days with Dad. Whenever Dad was nearby, Baby Monkey always felt safe and protected.
But one afternoon, Dad had to leave home for a while.
“Stay here and be a good boy,” Dad gently said before heading out.
Baby Monkey watched Dad disappear down the path. He waved goodbye and then returned inside, expecting to spend a quiet afternoon.
Everything was peaceful at first.
Suddenly, Baby Monkey heard a strange noise outside.
He stopped playing and listened carefully.
Rustle… rustle…
The sound seemed to be coming from near the entrance. Baby Monkey slowly walked closer and peeked outside. His eyes became wide when he noticed something moving near the garden.
He immediately became nervous.
Baby Monkey looked around for Dad, but Dad was nowhere to be seen. For a moment, he wanted to hide. His little heart was beating quickly, and he didn’t know what was making the strange sounds.
Then he looked back at his home.
This was where Dad had told him to stay safe.
Instead of running away, Baby Monkey decided to be brave. He stood near the entrance and watched carefully. He made a few loud sounds, hoping to scare away whatever was nearby.
Although he was tiny, Baby Monkey tried his best to look courageous.
The mysterious movement continued, but Baby Monkey refused to leave his home. He stayed alert and waited patiently for Dad to return.
After what felt like a very long time, Baby Monkey suddenly heard familiar footsteps.
Dad was coming back!
The moment Baby Monkey recognized him, all his fear disappeared. He rushed toward Dad and jumped into his arms.
Dad hugged him tightly and smiled when he realized how brave his little companion had been.
“You were waiting here all by yourself?” Dad asked gently.
Baby Monkey held onto Dad and gave a happy little sound.
Dad checked around the home and made sure everything was safe. Then he carried Baby Monkey inside, where they could relax together.
Baby Monkey had been frightened, but he had also learned something important that day. Courage isn’t about never feeling scared. Courage means staying strong even when you’re afraid.
