One sunny afternoon, Dad came home carrying something enormous. Baby Monkey ran outside and stopped in surprise when he saw it.
“WOW! Is that a fish?” Baby Monkey shouted.
Dad laughed. “Yes! And today, we’re going to roast it for dinner.”
The fish was so huge that Baby Monkey could hardly believe his eyes. He walked around it, staring at its long body and imagining how delicious it would taste. Dad began preparing a safe outdoor cooking area while Baby Monkey eagerly asked if he could help.
“Of course,” Dad said. “But you must listen carefully and stay with me.”
Baby Monkey nodded seriously. First, Dad prepared the fish and showed Baby Monkey how to add simple seasonings. Baby Monkey carefully sprinkled them over the fish, but then—oops!—he accidentally dropped a little too much in one spot.
Dad smiled. “That’s okay. We can fix it together.”
After everything was ready, Dad placed the fish on a large roasting rack over the cooking area. Baby Monkey stood nearby, watching with excitement as Dad carefully managed the heat.
“This is taking forever!” Baby Monkey said impatiently.
Dad laughed. “Good food takes time.”
While they waited, Baby Monkey decided to entertain himself. He picked up a large leaf and began fanning the air dramatically.
“I’m helping the fish cook faster!” he proudly announced.
Dad burst out laughing. “That’s not exactly how it works!”
But Baby Monkey continued fanning until his arms became tired. Suddenly, a strong breeze blew through the yard, sending several light leaves flying everywhere. One landed right on Baby Monkey’s head!
Dad laughed so hard that he almost dropped his cooking tool. Baby Monkey looked completely confused before realizing what had happened. Soon, both of them were laughing together.
After a while, the delicious smell of roasted fish filled the air. Baby Monkey’s stomach began to rumble.
“Is it ready now?” he asked for the tenth time.
Dad finally checked the fish and smiled. “Now it’s ready!”
Baby Monkey jumped with excitement. Dad carefully served the cooked fish, and the family gathered around to enjoy the special meal together.
Baby Monkey proudly took a bite and smiled from ear to ear.
“This is the best fish ever!” he said.
Dad gave him a high-five. “That’s because we made it together!”
Although Baby Monkey’s funny “cooking tricks” did not make the fish roast faster, his excitement made the day unforgettable. In the end, the huge fish became more than just dinner—it became a delicious family memory filled with laughter, teamwork, and love.
