Baby monkey Xuka sat quietly on the wooden porch with her tiny arms folded across her chest. Usually, she was the happiest little monkey in the house, always jumping around and making everyone laugh. But today was different. Her round eyes looked sad and jealous as she watched her aunt gently carrying the little puppy Kun in her arms.
Earlier that morning, Auntie had prepared warm milk for Kun and even brushed his soft fur carefully. Xuka secretly watched everything from behind the door. The more she looked, the more upset she became. In her little mind, she thought her aunt loved the puppy more than her.
When Auntie called her name for breakfast, Xuka refused to answer. She turned her face away and slowly walked into the garden. Even when Auntie brought her favorite bananas, Xuka still acted angry. She sat under a tree, pretending not to care, but deep inside she wanted attention.
The playful puppy happily ran around the yard and accidentally bumped into Xuka. Normally, she would laugh and hug him, but this time she gently pushed him away. Her tiny face looked so serious that everyone nearby could tell something was wrong.
Auntie finally sat beside Xuka and softly asked, “Why are you so quiet today?” Xuka looked down and made small sad sounds while pointing at the puppy. Auntie quickly understood. She smiled warmly and hugged Xuka close to her chest.
“My silly little girl,” Auntie whispered, “I love Kun because he is small and needs care, but you are my precious Xuka. No one can replace you.”
Then Auntie brought out a tiny new pink dress she had secretly prepared for Xuka. The baby monkey’s eyes suddenly became wide with surprise. Her anger slowly disappeared. She hugged Auntie tightly and even allowed puppy Kun to sit beside her again.
Soon, the yard was filled with laughter. Xuka happily shared bananas with the puppy while Auntie watched lovingly. At that moment, Xuka finally understood that love does not become smaller when shared. In fact, it grows even bigger for everyone in the family.
