Baby monkey Xuka was always curious about everything around him. Every day, he followed his father wherever he went, hoping to learn something new. To Xuka, his father was the strongest, smartest, and bravest monkey in the world.
One sunny morning, Xuka noticed something very unusual. His father woke up earlier than usual and quietly slipped out of the house carrying a small basket. Curious, Xuka decided to secretly follow him.
As they moved through the forest, Xuka hid behind trees and bushes. He expected his father to be gathering fruit or checking on their friends. Instead, his father stopped near a peaceful pond. What happened next surprised Xuka completely.
His father carefully placed the basket on the ground and began feeding a group of hungry birds. Then he gently helped a tiny injured squirrel drink some water. Xuka’s eyes grew wide. He had never seen this side of his father before.
For the next hour, Xuka watched as his father cared for several animals. He shared fruit with rabbits, cleaned a small area near the pond, and even rescued a turtle that had become tangled in some vines.
Finally, Xuka could not hide any longer. He jumped out from behind a tree and shouted, “Dad! What are you doing?”
His father smiled warmly. “I knew you were following me, Xuka,” he said. “I come here every week to help animals that need a little kindness.”
Xuka was speechless. He had always thought strength meant climbing the highest trees or carrying the heaviest loads. But now he realized something important.
“You’re not just strong,” Xuka said proudly. “You’re kind too.”
His father gently patted his head. “True strength comes from helping others whenever you can.”
Xuka hugged his father tightly. From that day forward, he joined him on his weekly visits to the pond. Together, they cared for animals, shared food, and spread kindness throughout the forest.
And every time Xuka remembered that surprising discovery, he smiled, knowing his father was even more amazing than he had ever imagined.
