It started as an ordinary morning on the family farm. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and young Cutis was happily playing near the garden while the animals wandered around enjoying the fresh air.
Among all the animals, one little goat had become especially close to Cutis. The playful goat followed him everywhere, watched him work, and eagerly waited for treats whenever he visited the barn. The two had become the best of friends.
But that afternoon, something unusual happened.
The goat walked to its favorite resting spot, expecting to find Cutis nearby, but he was nowhere to be seen. The yard was empty. The garden was quiet. Even the small path leading to the pond showed no sign of him.
The goat immediately became restless.
It ran toward the vegetable field.
No Cutis.
It hurried to the chicken coop.
Still no Cutis.
The worried goat let out several loud cries and began searching faster, moving from one corner of the farm to another. It looked behind trees, beside hay piles, and near the toolshed where Cutis often played.
The family noticed the goat’s unusual behavior and became curious. Why was it running around so urgently?
Then suddenly, the goat stopped near a large stack of straw and started bleating loudly while pawing at the ground.
Everyone rushed over.
To their surprise, Cutis slowly stood up from behind the straw pile with a huge smile on his face.
He hadn’t disappeared at all.
Cutis had been building a secret little hideout and accidentally fallen asleep inside after working hard all morning. He woke up confused to find the worried goat calling for him.
The goat immediately ran over and stayed close beside him as if making sure he wouldn’t vanish again.
Everyone burst into laughter at the unexpected ending.
From that day on, Cutis joked that he didn’t need an alarm clock anymore—he had the most loyal search-and-rescue goat on the entire farm.
