Early one bright morning, CUTIS had a clever idea. He noticed a big, ripe jackfruit hanging high on a tree near the edge of the yard. Its strong, sweet smell filled the air, making his mouth water. But the fruit was too high to reach, even for someone as active as CUTIS. Then he spotted his friend—the gentle goat grazing nearby.
“Maybe the goat can help me!” CUTIS thought excitedly.
He quickly brought the goat over to the tree and tried to guide it closer. The goat looked curious but calm, chewing slowly as if it had all the time in the world. CUTIS climbed onto a low branch and reached up, but he was still too far from the jackfruit. After a moment of thinking, he decided to stand on the goat’s back to get a little higher.
Carefully, CUTIS stepped onto the goat. At first, it seemed like a brilliant plan. He stretched his arm as far as he could and finally managed to touch the jackfruit. “Almost there!” he said with a big smile.
But just as he was about to twist the fruit off the tree, the goat suddenly moved. Maybe it saw something interesting on the ground—or maybe it just didn’t like standing still. Whatever the reason, CUTIS lost his balance.
“Whoa!” he shouted as he slipped and tumbled down. At the same time, the jackfruit broke loose and fell—right next to him with a loud thump!
For a moment, everything was quiet. Then CUTIS slowly sat up, rubbing his head. He looked at the goat, who simply blinked and continued chewing as if nothing had happened. CUTIS couldn’t help but laugh at the silly situation.
In the end, he got the jackfruit, but not in the way he planned. The “ending mistake” taught him something important—sometimes shortcuts can lead to funny trouble. Still, with a sweet jackfruit to enjoy, CUTIS decided it wasn’t such a bad day after all.
