One bright and sunny morning, Lily woke up feeling full of energy. After finishing her breakfast, she looked outside and noticed that Dad was holding a basketball.
“Dad, can you teach me how to play basketball?” Lily asked excitedly.
Dad smiled warmly. “Of course! Let’s go outside and have some fun.”
Lily quickly followed Dad to the yard, where he showed her how to hold the basketball properly. At first, the ball felt big and heavy in Lily’s small hands, but she was determined to learn.
Dad demonstrated how to dribble the ball by gently bouncing it on the ground. Lily watched carefully and tried to copy him. Her first attempt was not very successful—the ball bounced away, and Lily had to chase after it!
Dad laughed kindly and encouraged her to try again.
“Don’t worry, Lily. Learning takes practice,” he said.
Lily nodded and continued practicing. Slowly, she became better at bouncing the ball while walking. Then Dad taught her how to aim for the basket. Lily concentrated, lifted the ball, and threw it toward the hoop.

She tried again.

But Lily refused to give up.
On her third try, the ball finally went through the basket!
“Yay!” Lily shouted happily as Dad clapped and cheered for her.
After playing basketball for a while, both Lily and Dad became hungry. Dad looked at Lily and said, “How about we work together and prepare lunch?”
Lily loved the idea. They went into the kitchen, washed their hands, and began preparing a simple, delicious meal. Dad carefully showed Lily how to wash the vegetables and arrange them on a plate. Lily helped mix the ingredients and proudly placed the food on the table.
Although Lily was still learning, Dad praised her for being helpful and responsible.
Soon, lunch was ready. Lily looked at the meal and smiled proudly.
“This tastes even better because we made it together!” she said.
Dad smiled and gave Lily a gentle hug.
That day, Lily learned more than just how to dribble a basketball and shoot toward the hoop. She also discovered the joy of practicing, never giving up, and working together with someone she loved.
It was a simple day, but for Lily and Dad, it became a wonderful memory filled with laughter, learning, and love.
