It was another busy day on the family farm. From the moment the sun rose, Dad had been working tirelessly. He watered the vegetables, carried heavy baskets of fresh produce, repaired a broken fence, and made sure every plant had enough care to grow strong.
Little Monkey CUTIS quietly watched everything from the garden. He noticed that Dad never stopped to rest, even though sweat covered his face and his shoulders looked tired. Seeing Dad work so hard made CUTIS think of a special way to show his love.
“I want to do something that will make Dad smile,” CUTIS whispered.
Without telling anyone, CUTIS gathered a few simple things from around the house. He picked a handful of fresh mint leaves from the garden, sliced a juicy lemon with Mom’s help, and filled a pitcher with cool water. Mom smiled as she watched him carefully stir everything together.
“That’s a thoughtful idea,” she said. “Dad will love it.”
But CUTIS wasn’t finished yet.
He found a clean towel and placed it in the refrigerator for a little while so it would become cool. Then he picked a beautiful flower from the garden and made a tiny handmade card that read, “Thank you, Dad. I love you!”
As the afternoon sun grew hotter, Dad finally returned to the porch to take a short break. He looked exhausted after working all morning.
Just then, CUTIS came running over with the refreshing drink balanced carefully in his tiny hands.
“Surprise, Dad!” he said with a big smile.
Dad accepted the drink and took a long sip. The cool lemon and mint water instantly refreshed him.
Before Dad could say anything, CUTIS gently placed the chilled towel around Dad’s neck. The cool touch made Dad smile even wider. Then CUTIS handed him the little flower and the handmade card.
Dad’s eyes filled with happiness.
“This is the best surprise I’ve had all day,” he said warmly as he hugged CUTIS close.
Mom watched the sweet moment with a proud smile. She knew that the greatest gifts weren’t expensive—they came straight from the heart.
That evening, the whole family enjoyed dinner together, laughing and sharing stories. Dad still remembered the refreshing drink, the cool towel, and the heartfelt card. CUTIS had reminded everyone that even the smallest acts of kindness can become the most meaningful expressions of love.
