It was a beautiful morning on the farm, and little monkey CUTIS was behaving strangely. Usually, CUTIS loved following Dad everywhere, helping with chores, exploring the garden, and making everyone laugh with his playful personality. But today, he seemed to have a very important mission.
Whenever Dad came near, CUTIS quickly hid something behind his back.
Dad noticed immediately. “What are you hiding, CUTIS?” he asked with a curious smile.
CUTIS simply shook his head and ran away!
Dad followed him, but CUTIS was surprisingly quick. He disappeared behind a tree, peeked around the corner, and giggled when he saw Dad looking for him. Everyone nearby started laughing at the little monkey’s mysterious behavior.
After a while, CUTIS returned to the house carrying a small basket. He carefully placed it behind a chair and covered it with a cloth. Then he sat in front of it, pretending nothing unusual was happening.
Dad became even more curious.
“Hmm… I think you’re hiding a special secret,” Dad joked.
CUTIS covered his face with both hands and giggled.
Finally, Dad decided to wait patiently. After a few minutes, CUTIS couldn’t keep his secret any longer. He proudly pulled the cloth away and revealed his surprise—a beautiful basket filled with freshly picked fruit from the garden!
Dad’s eyes immediately became wide with excitement.
“Wow! CUTIS! You picked all of these yourself?”
CUTIS happily nodded and proudly pointed toward the garden.
Dad was so excited that he gave CUTIS a big hug. He couldn’t stop smiling as he admired the colorful fruit. Everyone around them burst into laughter when CUTIS began pretending to be a professional farmer, proudly showing Dad each piece of fruit.
But CUTIS had one more surprise. Hidden underneath the fruit was a tiny snack he had saved especially for Dad.
Dad laughed loudly when he discovered it.
“You even saved one for me?”
CUTIS nodded proudly.
Dad thanked him and told CUTIS how thoughtful he was. The funny little secret had turned into a beautiful family moment filled with laughter and love.
