The sun was slowly setting over the small village where Monkey Lyly had spent so many happy days. The gentle breeze moved through the trees, and the familiar sounds of birds filled the evening air. But today felt very different. Instead of playing happily outside, Lyly stood quietly in front of her house with watery eyes.
Her family was preparing to move away.
Boxes were stacked near the door, and the small yard where Lyly used to run and laugh was almost empty. Looking around at everything made her heart feel heavy. Every corner of the house held precious memories — eating breakfast with Mom, playing games with Dad, and relaxing peacefully during rainy afternoons.
Lyly slowly touched the wooden fence she loved so much and sighed softly.
“I don’t want to leave,” she whispered sadly.
Soon, the neighbors began gathering outside to say goodbye. Everyone in the village loved little Lyly because she was kind, cheerful, and always made people smile. Some neighbors brought small gifts, while others hugged her tightly with tears in their eyes.
Her best friends also came running toward her. They had shared so many fun adventures together — climbing trees, picking fruits, and playing hide-and-seek until sunset. Thinking about those memories made Lyly even more emotional.
One of her friends handed her a tiny handmade bracelet as a farewell gift.
“So you’ll always remember us,” her friend said gently.
Lyly could no longer hold back her tears. She hugged her friends tightly while crying softly. Even Dad became emotional seeing how much the little monkey loved her neighborhood.
As the moving truck prepared to leave, Lyly took one final walk around the yard. She looked at the trees, the flowers, and the little path where she used to play every morning. Everything felt so special to her.
Before getting into the car, Lyly turned toward her neighbors and waved slowly.
“Goodbye, everyone,” she said with a trembling voice. “I will miss you all so much.”
The neighbors waved back warmly, shouting kind words and wishing her happiness in her new home.
As the car slowly drove away, Lyly looked out the window the entire time, watching her beloved village disappear farther into the distance. Although she felt sad leaving behind the place she loved, she also carried beautiful memories in her heart.
No matter where life would take her next, Lyly knew she would never forget the home and neighbors who had filled her childhood with love and happiness.
