One sunny morning, baby monkey Xuka and her best friend, puppy Kun, were invited by Uncle to visit a new place far from their home. Neither of them had ever been there before, so they felt both excited and nervous during the journey.
As they rode in Uncle’s small cart, Xuka kept looking around curiously while Kun sat quietly beside her with his ears moving nervously. The road became unfamiliar, and the trees looked bigger and darker than the ones near their home.
“Where are we going?” Xuka asked softly while holding Kun tightly.
Uncle smiled mysteriously and replied, “It’s a surprise!”
After a long ride, they finally arrived at a huge garden surrounded by colorful flowers, tall bamboo trees, and strange statues shaped like animals. The place looked beautiful, but to little Xuka and Kun, it also felt very unfamiliar.
At first, both of them froze near the entrance. Kun slowly hid behind Xuka’s legs while carefully sniffing the air. Meanwhile, Xuka stared around with wide eyes, unsure whether she should explore or stay close to Uncle.
Suddenly, a loud bird cried from the trees.
“AWKKK!”
Kun became startled and jumped into the air, accidentally bumping into Xuka. Xuka screamed playfully and quickly climbed onto a nearby bench for safety. Uncle could not stop laughing at their funny reactions.
A few minutes later, curiosity slowly replaced their fear. Xuka carefully stepped down from the bench and began exploring the garden little by little. She touched the flowers gently and pointed excitedly at colorful butterflies flying around.
Kun also became braver. He started running happily across the grass while chasing falling leaves blown by the wind. Soon, the strange place no longer felt scary at all.
Then they discovered a small fountain in the middle of the garden. Xuka laughed joyfully while splashing water with her tiny hands, and Kun barked excitedly as he chased the water drops.
By the end of the day, Xuka and Kun no longer wanted to leave. What first seemed like a strange and frightening place had turned into one of the happiest adventures they had ever experienced together.
Sometimes, new places may feel scary at first, but with friendship and courage, they can become wonderful memories.
